The CSCF with its partners trains leaders to create a quality experience for ski racers.
On November 23, 2002 at the CSCF AGM at the Banff Park Lodge, Banff, AB, two "founders" were inducted. The selection process was guided by the original 5 Hall of Fame inductees from the 2001 induction at Mt. Tremblant.
Butch Boutry – Rossland, BC –
Butch attended the first official coaching course at Red Mountain, BC in April 1965 given by Vern Anderson. He later became a certified "coach examiner" in 1968. His early coaching career took him to the Mt. Tremblant Ski Club in the late 1960’s and the Griffin Summer camps at Kokanee glacier in 1969. From 1968-1984, he worked as a Director and examiner for the CSCF, running Club Coach and Alpine Coach certification courses across the country. Some of the coaches who had a positive impact on Butch’s career were: Luc Dubois, Scott Henderson, Ernie McCullough and Lynn Macintosh. Butch’s coaching career has included work with the National Ski Team, Red Mountain Racers, Canadian Disabled Ski Team and more.
