Race Camp Planned for Tignes, France Oct 4 - 25, 2014

Red Mountain Racers Coach Mike Osatiuk is once again planning to take a group of racers to France for a pre-season training camp. Coach Mike has been returning to  Tignes for many years, his local knowledge and contacts allow for a well organized, fun, and healthy training environmentLast year a group of racers were fortunate enough to travel to Tignes and to train with teams from all over the world on La Grande Motte glacier.

La Grande Motte sits at an impressive 3100m (10,170ft) and provides a great high altitude training experience for our athletes. In addition to 3 weeks of incredible early season training, an overnight trip to Annecy, one of the oldest cities in the French Alps, is included.

This camp is open to U16, U18 and returning U14 athletes born 2001 or earlier. Training focus will be Slalom and GS skills introducing gates and race environments. There will also be a speed component so bring your Super G skis!

Tignes is a world class alpine training centre used by club and national teams during the off-season. Due to its high elevation and early October snow, Tignes offers ideal conditions and terrain for early season training.

Flights will be booked from Spokane Washington, by the RMR. Other flight arrangements can be arranged by each family conditional on arrival in Geneva being prior to, or at, the same time as the RMR flight.
